More than just soup

A community-driven initiative to provide a weekly hot meal for underprivileged members of our community in the greater Ballito area.

Hot Meal Inititative

Started from a compassionate heart to help local people who have a heart to help others, we wanted to provide meals made from the freshest ingredients for people who are in need.

We partner with a NPO in Groutville where 90 pensioners gather at a house and get fed 3 times a week with a hot meal and get to take a nutritious porridge home for the other days.

In Shakashead we partner with a family that has a heart for helping people with little. Tembe makes sure that around 40 struggling families get food a couple of times a week.

The Hot Meal Initiative could not run without volunteers, who bring vegetables and all pitch in to chop and prepare the soup. The hot meal is cooked onsite in a converted container kitchen and gets delivered on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings.
